Laws and regulations
Our suppliers must adhere to and comply with the laws and regulations that apply in the country in which they operate.
Working conditions
The provider shall respect fundamental human rights and treat its employees in accordance with the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and the Right to Work (1998).
Prohibition of forced labor
All employees must work in the workplace of their own free will. The supplier may not use any form of forced labor.
Prohibition of discrimination
All workers must be treated fairly and not subjected to any form of discrimination based on race, sexual orientation, religion, political opinion, descent or origin.
Right to join trade unions
The employees must be able to get involved in a trade union without risking any form of punishment or sanctions by the employer.
Salaries
The supplier must comply with all laws in the country regarding wages and working hours, including minimum wages, overtime and the length of working hours.
Working hours
Overtime must be voluntary and in accordance with humane working conditions and must not exceed the applicable working hours laws that apply to the country. Employees must have at least one full day off per week.
Prevent child labor
Dixie’s suppliers must follow the rules that apply to: Labor Organization (ILO) Convention (No. 138) regarding minimum age and child labor, as well as restrictions regarding work before compulsory schooling has ended and (No. 182,1999) which includes protection from dangerous employment. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCHR), 1989, which protects against economic exploitation, dangerous employment and restrictions on education, must also be complied with.
Health and Safety
The supplier must offer a safe and healthy workplace and comply with the country’s laws on the working environment.
Environmental impact
The supplier must meet the environmental requirements set in the country in the form of laws and industry standards. They must also be aware of their environmental impact and actively work with environmental issues.
Anti-corruption
Dixie does not accept corruption or extortion.
Subcontractors
Dixie requires the supplier to communicate with and requires its subcontractors to comply with Dixie’s code of conduct.
